Happy 80th Birthday to Justin Hayward OBE
Space Travelling Superstar!

Born 14 October 1946 in Swindon, Justin is probably best known as a vocalist, lead guitarist and song writer for The Moody Blues. He penned numerous songs, in particular “Nights in White Satin”.
The band produced many successful and influential hit albums, including “In Search of The Lost Chord”, “To Our Children’s Children’s Children” and “On the Threshold of a Dream”, all three of which travelled into space with the astronaut, Al Worden, on cassette tape on the Apollo 15 mission. Making them some of the first rock recordings to leave Earth!
Justin continued to tour with The Moody Blues until 2018, but also launched many solo albums, including a collaboration with John Lodge, Blue Jays which reached the UK top 5 in 1975. The single “Blue Guitar” was recorded with 10CC.
He is also famous for his 1978 recording of “Forever Autumn” from “Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds” – one of my absolute favourite albums!
Justin is still touring and will be performing at The Tyne Theatre & Opera House in Newcastle Upon Tyne, this Sunday (18Th October).
We are fortunate enough to have a good selection of Moody Blues and related LPs on the stall at the moment. Why not come and have a rummage!
